SUMTER (WACH)-A legally blind man who went missing Saturday, was found Tuesday afternoon by officers.

Leroy Leneau, 61, was found in a wooded area near a creek at about 4:45 p.m. Tuesday during a search of the area where he was last thought to be. It is unclear how he made his way to the wooded area and how long he had been there.

K-9 officer Riley helped track Leneau to the location.

Leneau was transported by Emergency Medical Services to Tuomey Regional Medical Center for treatment. His condition was not immediately available. However, officers said he was responsive when located.

Leneau was reported missing over the weekend by an out-of-town relative who last spoke with him by phone at about 8 a.m. Saturday while he was at a friendâ??s home in the 900 block of South Main Street.

Family members said they last saw Leneau leaving his home on his way to visit the friend but never returned.
