Missing Sumter woman found dead in woods, deputies suspect foul play
SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. (WACH)-- The Sumter County Sheriff's Departement is investigating what appears to be a homicide of a missing Cherryvale woman.
On Thursday, deputies reported that 27-year-old Suzette Ginther of Sumter was missing.
Shortly after 4 p.m. a hunter happened to see what appeared to be a woman's body in Manchester National Forest near Camp Burnt Gin and reported his finding to deputies.
Investigators with the department later determined that the body of the missing woman was Ginther.
“We suspect foul play and are treating it as a homicide,” said Sumter County Sheriff Anthony Dennis.
No arrest has been made as SLED is assisting with the investigation.
