PICKENS, S.C. (AP) -- A woman accused of killing her two children and shooting her husband in the head has been released from a Greenville hospital.
Pickens County deputies say 35-year-old Suzanna Simpson was taken into custody as soon as she was released Monday afternoon and brought to jail.
Simpson is charged with two counts of murder and attempted murder. Authorities say she killed her 7-year-old daughter and 5-year-old son in their beds last week and shot her husband. He remains in the hospital in critical condition.
Deputies say Simpson was hurt when she smashed her pickup into a tree after the shooting. An arrest warrant says she told a nurse she tried to kill herself after shooting her family, but couldn't pull the trigger.
It wasn't known if Simpson had a lawyer.
