MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) -- New rules for pets and bicycles on the beach are about to take effect in Myrtle Beach.
The summer rules begin Wednesday and restrict the times that bikes and pets can be on the beach or the boardwalk.
Pets and bicycles are allowed on the beach only before 10 a.m. and after 5 p.m. each day through Labor Day.
Pets must be kept on a leash of 7 feet or shorter at all times. Owners must pick up and properly dispose of any waste.
Pets and bikes are allowed on the boardwalk only from 5 to 10 a.m. through Labor Day.
