MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) -- Tourism leaders on South Carolina's Grand Strand are gathering to get an update on how things are going.

The Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce and Convention and Visitors Bureau hosts a tourism marketing update on Tuesday. Those attending the meeting are slated to hear from local and national marketing experts as well as a representative from

Chamber president and CEO Brad Dean says the session allows those in the industry to talk about research and the latest trends as well as discussing tourism strategy to bring visitors to the area next season.

The Grand Strand and Myrtle Beach are the heart of South Carolina's $16.5 billion tourism industry.
