KERSHAW COUNTY (WACH) - A sex offender caught by Kershaw County deputies last march was sentenced to 20 years in jail on Monday.
Kershaw County Sheriff's Office officials say Isaac Claude Flynn, 38, pled guilty on four charges including criminal sexual conduct with a minor, criminal solicitation of a minor, attempted criminal sexual conduct with a minor and dissemination of obscene material to a person under 18.
Flynn was arrested on March 22, 2012 after he travelled to Kershaw County to meet with and have sexual relations with what he thought was a 14-year-old girl.
Kershaw County investigators began looking into Flynn last February after receiving information that he had travelled to Kershaw County from North Carolina to have sex with a 15-year-old girl from December 2011 through January 2012.
"It is important that we send a strong message to sexual predators who prey on children that not only will we aggressively pursue them, our judicial system will deal with them severely,â?? said Kershaw County Sheriff Jim Matthews. â??Parents need to monitor their childrenâ??s internet activities and be forthcoming to law enforcement should they suspect foul play by a sexual predator posing as another child."
