COLUMBIA (WACH) -- Education leaders launched a new resource for parents and students Thursday.
A new school options catalogue is now available online.
The catalogue highlights several choices students in the palmetto state have to choose for
their education, including traditional public and private schools, charter schools, virtual schools or home schooling.
This online resource is the first in South Carolina and educators urge parents to use it to customize and control their children's education.
"A traditional model puts every child in the same classroom and expects them to learn the same material, pretty much in the same way on the same schedule, should we be surprised that doesn't work for many students and many families," Said S.C. Education superintendent Dr. Mick Zais.
