NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) -- Authorities have identified a 22-year-old man stabbed to death in North Charleston this week.
Deputy Charleston County Coroner Kelly Kraus tells local media outlets that Alex Whipple of Charleston died Monday of a stab wound to his chest.
North Charleston police spokesman Spencer Pryor says a woman told investigators her boyfriend came to her home Monday with a hammer and demanded she come outside. She says the man then used the hammer to damage a car.
The woman says she walked outside with a knife and asked the man to leave. The woman told police the man charged at her, and the knife ended up in his chest.
No charges have been filed against the woman.
