COLUMBIA (WACH) -- There is not much change in South Carolina when it comes to the status of the drought.
The weekly U.S. Drought Monitor did not show any change from the previous week.
The good news is that over 35 percent of the state is not in a drought thanks to recent rainfall across the Pee Dee, Grand Strand, and the Low Country.
The Midlands is included in the "Abnormally Dry" category which encompasses just over 64 percent of the state.
Parts of the western Upstate are in a "moderate" drought. That category takes up over 11 percent of the state.
Just three months ago parts of South Carolina were in an "extreme" drought.
Rainfall is sparse for the next 7 days. For the latest forecast from the SkyWACH Weather Team click here.
