COLUMBIA (WACH) â?? Officers with the Lexington County Multi-Agency Narcotics Enforcement Team (NET) on Thursday, January 23 arrested a 30-year-old Gaston woman on charges that the woman operated a methamphetamine laboratory that officers found in a truck that was parked on West Ballpark Rd.
Lexington County Sheriff James R. Metts said NET officers arrested Stefanie Renee Head, 30, of Meadowfield Rd. in Gaston, on a charge of manufacturing methamphetamine.
Head was being held on Friday, January 24 at the Lexington County Detention Center while awaiting a bond hearing.
A Lexington County Sheriffâ??s Department deputy went to West Ballpark Rd. at about 1:49pm on Thursday in order to investigate a suspicious truck. The deputy pulled up behind a green Mazda truck that was parked on the road and found Head sitting in the front passenger seat of the truck.
The deputy then searched the truck and found items inside of the vehicle that indicated that a meth lab was being operated inside the vehicle.
NET officers determined that Had possessed a clear, plastic two-liter bottle that actively was being used as a reaction vessel to manufacture methamphetamine.
Metts asked anyone with information about illegal drug activity in Lexington County to call the Lexington County Sheriffâ??s Department at (803) 785-8230 or CrimeStoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC
