Officers search for man in connection with weekend shooting

COLUMBIA (WACH)-- The Columbia Police Department has released surveillance video of a weekend shooting incident, which you can see below.

Police say they are trying to locate the man seen in the pictures. On the night of the shooting he was seen running along Lincoln Street wearing a dark, sleeveless shirt and sagging blue jeans.

Several hours later the same man was seen wearing a white T-shirt with the words Baptist on the back.

Investigators said surveillance video shows him picking up the dark blue shirt from the ground on Lincoln Street a few hours after the shooting.

Police say around 2am on Sunday, June 1, CPD Officers were assisting with crowd control on Lady Street when they heard what sounded like gunshots in the area.

Responding officers searched the area and found property damage but no victims.

Evidence was collected and several people were interviewed.

Investigators would like to speak the man seen running in the surveillance video. It is believed that he has information related to the case.

Tipsters could earn a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest.
