Officials announce the seizure of a dozen illegal gambling machines

A dozen illegal gambling machines have been seized by Columbia Police Department

COLUMBIA (WACH) â?? Interim Police Chief Ruben Santiago announced the seizure of a dozen illegal gambling machines and the arrest of a man accused of operating a gaming house after a Crimestoppers tip received by the Columbia Police Department.

Herman Creech,64, was arrested and charged with Gambling/Keeping Gaming House.

The machines were discovered by North Regionâ??s Special Operations group inside a residence located at 4715 Norman Street at approximately 3PM on September 24.

Officers seized the machines, more than $2500, and two ledgers during the investigation.

Three additional people were allegedly playing the gaming machines.

Yvonne Dianne Roberts ,57, Phillip Nelson ,66, Thelma Elizabeth Star ,57, were given a citation, per city ordinance for Gambling.
