Officials looking for suspect in drive-by shooting

NEWBERRY (WACH) -- Officials are looking for a suspect who they say was involved in a drive-by shooting last Thursday. Another is already in custody.

Newberry County deputies say three people were shot with a shotgun in the incident that happened on Gray Street in the Helena community.

Witnesses told investigators the suspects were in a van that was later discovered in a ditch near the shooting location.

The two suspects were identified as 25-year-old Michael Dewayne Wise and 21-year-old Anthony Tyrone Wise.

Anthony Wise turned himself in Friday morning, but officials are still looking for Michael, who lives at 201 Church Street in Prosperity.

Deputies say he is to be considered armed and dangerous.

The shooting may be related to a previous incident in Newberry.

None of the injuries to the victims are life threatening and all occurred on the lower body.
