UPDATE: Coroner identifies driver who crashed into abandoned home
RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WACH) -- A person is dead following a Friday night accident on Bluff Road.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 9:35 p.m at the intersection of Bluff Road and Flamingo Drive. Mekahya Deonnese Prince, 28, was driving west on Bluff Road when the Chevrolet Camaro veered off the right side of the road. Prince crashed into an abandoned brick home. She was not wearing a seat belt.
Prince was transported to Palmetto Health Richland Memorial Hospital, where she died around 10:30 p.m. Richland County coroner Gary Watts determined cause of death was blunt force trauma.
This incident is under investigation by SCHP.
