Over thirty handguns stolen from South Carolina outdoors shop

Gilbert, S.C. (WACH) -- Thieves broke into J.C.'s Outdoors in Gilbert early Tuesday morning and stole thirty-nine handguns.

The suspects broke into the back door of the shop around 3:30 a.m. on the morning of the 4th of July.

The Lexington County Sheriff's Department released several images taken from the store the day before. Authorities emphasize that the men in the photos are not suspects but may know more information about the incident.

The owner of the shop, Chris Veronee, says he feels it's a shame that he has to deal with this on a holiday that celebrates America's freedom.

"I hope they get caught, but I have no bad feelings," said Veronee. "My biggest prayer, is that they fall in love with Christ. If you do that, you don't have to worry about theft going on."

Anyone with information on the men in the photos or on the case in general is encouraged to contact Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
