Owner:embattled 5 Points club to remain open

A Five Points Bar described earlier this week by Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott as a hotbed for gang members, will remain open this weekend according to its owner

COLUMBIA (WACH)- A Five Points club described earlier this week by Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott as a hotbed for gang members, will remain open this weekend according to its owner.

Justin Kershner, owner of The Library, said Friday he was able to secure a loan to pay the state department of revenue almost $20,000 in back taxes. Kershner said if he couldn't open his bar, he would miss payments in an arrangement he had with the department.

Sheriff Lott openly criticized the bar at a Wednesday news conference saying the business should be shut down.
