COLUMBIA (WACH) - A local mobile taco business has its sign back after it was stolen early Friday morning.
Paco's Mobile Tacos used social media to pressure two individuals who were captured on surveillance video stealing a sign that belonged to the business. According to the Paco's Tacos Facebook page, the sandwich board style folding sign was stolen around 4 a.m. Friday.
The business made a social media push Monday morning to spread the word about the stolen property. The following statement was posted to the Paco's Tacos page: "Paco wants his sign back. No questions asked. Just bring it back."
Pictures of the suspects and surveillance videos were posted to the Paco's Tacos page throughout the day.
Just before midnight Monday, the business posted another statement to Facebook, "Call off the hounds! We'd like to extend a BIG thanks to the Facebook community and guilty consciences everywhere! Our sign has been retured!...Way to pull together and help out a local biz Columbia! You rock! Much love!"
The sign was returned less than 24 hours after the social media push began.
Paco's Mobile Tacos never contacted the authorities.
