COLUMBIA (WACH) - Plenty of Midlands residents braved the dreary weather Saturday morning to see the Carolina Carillon Holiday Parade.
The Parade is said to be not only one the best parades in Columbia, but also the official holiday parade of South Carolina.
It included over 100 entries, from marching bands to dance teams, along with dozens of floats.
But Santa Claus was definitely one of the most anticipated guests, and he did not disappoint.
He came by to see all the good boys and girls, and ask what they wanted for Christmas.
This highly anticipated holiday parade is not only loads of fun, but also holds a deeper meaning for many.
"For me personally, it's definitely a welcoming in of the holiday season. I think sometimes we get so caught up in the hustle and bustle of Christmas shopping and making sure that all the presents are wrapped and different things like that, that we actually lose sight and track of the real meaning of Christmas, and that ultimately is spending time with family and friends and ringing in the holiday season with those you love best." says Miss Carolina Carillon, Ariel Fox.
And there was definitely no shortage of time with loved ones at this parade to get Christmas kicked off right.
