Thu, 27 Mar 2014 16:14:27 GMT — COLUMBIA (WACH)- Parents of students at Airport High School say a group of students are staging a sit-in after they say an Assistant Principal was fired. According to the parents, students have been keeping in touch with them throughout the protest, and say students are starting to leave school. A Lexington Two School District spokesperson tells WACH Fox that they heard similar reports and have extra student resource officers and administrative staff on campus. However, one parent that contacted told WACH Fox said the situation at the high school was much worse than reported. The Dad, wanting to remain anonymous said he picked up his child from school and saw what he described as a potential riot, students jumping on tables and food being thrown. The district says they are unaware of any sit-in happening and school is running on it's normal schedule and couldn't comment on the status of any personnel issues. WACH has a crew on the scene and they report seeing a heavy police presence around Airport High. We will provide more information once it becomes available.
