COLUMBIA, SC (WACH) - The man accused of killing a pedestrian in a Columbia hit and run remains in jail.
Tres Reep, 27, is accused of hitting and killing an unidentified pedestrian with his pickup truck.
Sergeant Bob Beres with the South Carolina Highway Patrol said Reep ran into the victim with his 2006 Chevrolet pickup Wednesday night around 10. Authorities say Reep left the scene and was arrested about 3 hours later.
The crash happened on Hardscrabble Road in Northeast Richland County near Ridge View High School.
A bond hearing set for Reep on Thursday afternoon was put on hold after a victim's advocate told a judge she had not been able to contact the victim's family. The coroner has not yet identified the victim.
Reep is expected back in court Friday morning.
The Highway Patrol is still investigating the crash. WACH Fox will bring you more details as we get them.
