Perimeter set up in search for shooting suspects

Police respond to Strickland's Mini-Mart after a clerk was shot there during a robbery / Tonya Brown

Barrington Network Station WPDE NewsChannel 15 has learned from a law enforcement official on scene that a perimeter has been set up on Tanyard Street in Timmonsville, where police believe two suspects from an armed robbery and shooting are hiding.

Florence County Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer Mike Nunn says around 12:30 Thursday, two armed men entered Strickland's Mini-Mart off Highway 76 near Timmonsville, demanded money from the clerk and shot her.

Police have setup a roadblock and a perimeter at Tanyard Street & Clifford Street in Timmonsville.

NewsChannel 15's Tonya Brown says FBI agents and SLED officers are now on the scene along with the Florence County Sheriff's Office and Timmonsville police. We have also learned that a SLED helicopter is on the way to the search scene to begin an aerial search. Bloodhounds are being used in the ground search.

Specific descriptions of the robbers have not been released.

The clerk has been taken to a hospital, and her condition has not been released.
