Police: Impatient bank robber jumps counter grabs cash

COLUMBIA (WACH) â?? The West Columbia Police Department is requesting assistance from the community in locating a suspect that robbed the First Community Bank on 506 Meeting Street in West Columbia at 9:04am today.
According to Chief Tyndall, approximately 9:04am this morning a man standing at 5â??10, 150-160lbs, 25-35 years old entered the bank and gave the teller a note demanding money. The teller did not respond to the demand immediately and the suspect became impatient and jumped over the counter and $500 in cash out of the cash drawer.
Witnesses say the suspect was wearing a blue and white checkered or black and white checkered skirt with red plaid shorts, white ankle socks and white shoes. The suspect left the bank on foot and it is believed he got into a maroon, 4-door car that was parked in the area.
