      Police searching for man accused of assaulting a juvenile

      The department describes the suspect as a man between 60-70 years of age with gray hair. He was wearing large sunglasses during the incident.

      WEST COLUMBIA, S.C. (WACH) - A man accused of assaulting a juvenile is wanted by the West Columbia Police Department.

      Chief Dennis Tyndall says the victim accepted a ride from an unknown man around 6 p.m. on Sunday, April 8 while walking on Knox Abbott Drive in Cayce. The victim asked to leave the vehicle after the suspect began driving "erratically."

      The suspect pulled into a parking lot at 1303 Charleston Highway, inappropriately touched the victim and made a sexual reference. The victim got out of the vehicle and called police, according to Tyndall.

      The department describes the suspect as a man between 60-70 years of age with gray hair. He was wearing large sunglasses during the incident.

      The vehicle used in the incident was captured on surveillance video and appears to be a 2009-2011 Volkswagen Jetta Sportwagen with black rims.
