COLUMBIA (WACH) -- Columbia police say a woman was sexually assaulted earlier this month at Columbiana Centre in Harbison.

Officials are hoping you will recognize a man seen in surveillance video who was seen walking the same direction as the victim at the time of the assault.

Investigators say the victim claims a man tried to fondle her underneath her skirt while she was exiting the bathroom on August 17 around 10:30 a.m. She says the suspect grabbed her around her face and neck from behind.

The victim says she used one of her high heel shoes to fight back and screamed, which prompted the suspect to flee the area.

No serious injuries were reported by the woman.

She says the man was a black male, possibly with a beard, between the ages of 25 and 30-years-old, standing 5'8" tall, weighing around 250 pounds. She thinks he was wearing a dirty, white t-shirt and dark pants.
