RALEIGH, NC (WACH / WRAL) - A 29-year-old political fundraiser originally from Orangeburg is believed to have been stabbed to death in Raleigh, NC.
WRAL-TV reports Jamie Krik Hahn's family released a statement Wednesday saying she died at 1:50 a.m.
"We lost a beautiful and loving wife, daughter and friend," the family said to WRAL-TV. "We all lost a pure and brave spirit. She had a gift for bringing us together??black and white, young and old, gay and straight. She challenged us to work together for a better world."
According to WRAL, Hahn's husband, Nation Richard Hahn, 27, was treated and released from a Raleigh hospital, after he was stabbed numerous times as well. Police said Wednesday that Jonathan Wayne Broyhill, 31, will be charged with murder upon his release from WakeMed, where he was being treated for self-inflicted injuries. Broyhill was previously charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, and police said Wednesday a charge of attempted murder will be withdrawn.
