COLUMBIA (WACH) -- Republican Nikki Haley is holding her lead over Democrat Vincent Sheheen in the race for governor according to the latest Rasmussen Reports poll.
The survey of likely voters show Haley with 49-percent support to Sheheen's 35-percent support. Four percent support another candidate in the race and 12-percent are undecided.
Both candidates saw their support dip compared to the previous Rasmussen poll. In the June 28 poll Haley had 52-percent support and Sheheen had 40-percent support.
The survey of 500 likely voters was conducted on July 29. The margin of sampling error is +/- 4.5 percentage points with a 95-percent level of confidence.
Twenty-eight percent of all voters in South Carolina now hold a very favorable opinion of Haley, down slightly from the previous survey. Twelve percent view her very unfavorably -- up from 11-percent from the previous poll.
Sheheen is viewed very favorably by 24-percent -- up slightly from the previous poll and very unfavorably by 15-percent -- up from 12-percent in the previous poll.
