Pot plot leads to Leesville man's arrest

LEXINGTON COUNTY (WACH) -- A Leesville man is charged with growing marijuana in Lexington County.
According to the Lexington County Sheriff's Department, David Ray Brown, 40, planted the plot of pot near his Charles Town Road home.
Acting on a tip the Lexington County Multi-Agency Narcotics Enforcement Team found the plants being grown in the woods near Brown's home and saw him tend to the plants.
Deputies say the 52 plants had a street value of about $52,000.
Brown faces charges of manufacturing marijuana and illegally possessing a controlled substance for Xanax pills deputies say Brown had.
Brown was released from the Lexington County Detention Center on July 4 after posting $25,000 bail.
Lexington County Sheriff James Metts said the case involving Brown remains under investigation.
