COLUMBIA (WACH) -- The manager and three employees of a night club have been arrested after a Saturday morning raid.
Richland County Sheriff's Department Deputy Curtis Wilson said they received a tip that Club Crush on the 3700 block of River Rd. was still operating; despite multiple warnings to shut down by the department.
Wilson said when they arrived around 2 a.m., the club was still operating as a "sexually oriented business" without a business license. Authorities also say the club sold alcohol without a license.
Deputies arrested the club manager, 45-year old Neely Smith, and charged him with operating a sexual business without a license.
Three entertainers were cited for dancing without a license.
Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott released the following statement:
"The ownership and management of Club Crush drew a line in the sand daring us to close them down. We will do all we can to make that happen as well make sure they follow the law until their doors are locked permanently. Any establishment, that repeatedly endangers people's lives and violates the law, will not be tolerated in Richland County."
