      RCSD asking for communities help in identifying, locating attempted murder suspects

      The Richland County Sheriff's Department is asking for the communities assistance in identifying and locating suspects wanted for attempted murder and armed robbery.

      RICHLAND COUNTY (WACH) - The Richland County Sheriff's Department is asking for the communities assistance in identifying and locating suspects wanted for attempted murder and armed robbery.

      Lott says investigators have gathered information with the help of the community that could link possible suspects captured on video surveillance equipment from a business on Decker Boulevard to a shooting and armed robbery that left one man injured on May 9.

      Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott said just after 5 p.m. on May 9 Richland County deputies responded to a shots fired call on Faraway Drive. When deputies arrived, they found a 21-year-old man who had been shot multiple times on Long Shadow Lane.

      Lott says four suspects followed the victim onto Long Shadow Lane from Faraway Drive and stole the his money and backpack before running away. The victim was taken to Palmetto Health Richland in serious condition.

      Authorities describe the men as four black males who may have been driving a dark grey Ford, possibly a Focus.
