RCSD seeking suspect in 2 NE Columbia burglaries

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WACH)-- The Richland County Sheriff's Department is asking for the public's assistance in locating a suspect wanted for burglary.

Sheriff Leon Lott stated that the suspect broke into two businesses located in the same shopping center on Hardscrabble Road across from Rice Creek Elementary and Ridge View High School.

On July 10 at approximately 1:45 a.m. the suspect shot out the front glass door to Tokyo Grill with a handgun, went inside and stole an unknown amount of cash.

On July 21 around the same time, the suspect broke out the front window to Food Lion with a handgun and stole a cash register drawer. The drawer, however, was empty.

The suspect was captured on video surveillance.
