Recent Gilbert High grad killed in car crash

LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WACH)-- A Leesville teen has been identified as the victim of a fatal car crash.

According to Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher, 18-year-old Timothy "TJ" Langfitt, Jr., was pronounced dead at the the scene due to traumatic injuries he sustained.

According to reports that accident occurred around 10 p.m. Tuesday in the 2000 block of Cedar Grove Road.

Langfitt reportedly drove off the left side of the road and hit multiple trees.

He was wearing a seat-belt at the time of the crash and no other occupants were inside of the vehicle.

According to the school's graduation program, TJ was a recent graduate of Gilbert High School where played multiple sports including soccer. The program also stated he planned to study law enforcement services.
