Columbia (WACH/NWS) -- Snow wasn`t the only rare occurence folks around the Midlands experienced on Wednesday.
Record high temperatures were set in Columbia, SC and Augusta, GA.
These aren`t the normal record highs we normally set.
These record temperatures were record cold high temperatures, which means it was the coldest high temperature experienced on this date.
At Columbia Metropolitan Airport (CAE), the high temperature only reached 32 degrees, breaking the previous record of 33 degrees set in 1904.
At Augusta Bush Field (AGS), the high temperatures only reached 31 degrees, breaking the previous record of 34 set in 2005.
The frigid temperatures will be out of the area this weekend as southerly winds bring in warmer air.
