Columbia (WACH) â?? Since late last week weâ??ve had a front stalled across the state. We received record rainfall amounts and will continue seeing more rain today.
With a frontal boundary stalled across the state we will continue to see the threat for rain this Monday. The main concern today will be heavy rainfall and localized flooding, similar to this weekend. On Saturday, a record was broken with rainfall total at the Columbia Metro Airport. The airport received 3.61 inches of rain, which is over 1 inch greater than the previous record of 2.49 inches set back in 1964.
Weâ??ll have to deal with more clouds than sun but that will help keep our temperatures below normal. We only hit 82 degrees in Columbia yesterday so temperatures will likely stay in the 80â??s again this afternoon. Showers make continue to linger throughout the evening.
