Richland County deputies make quick arrest after home invasion

A home invasion that happeneded Thursday morning lands three suspects in jail just 36 hours later.

Richland County deputies responded to a call around 4:30AM Thursday on Menlo Drive. Inside they found a man who's been stabbed and a woman who had been assaulted. They told police four men forced their way in through the front door and tied up the man inside after stabbing him. They then held a knife to the woman's throat and proceeded to fondle her. The three suspects ransacked the house, leaving with a television and other items.

Just before 4:00 PM on Friday, Richland County Sheriffâ??s Department Investigators, along with the Lexington County Sheriffâ??s Department following up on tips located 18 year old Kevin Peay Jr. along with Adam Barber, 26 and Andrew Moore, 20. Police were able to arrest them without incident, taking them to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center. They've been charged with attempted murder, two counts of armed robbery, burglary, and two counts of kidnapping.

Sheriff Leon Lott stated that information provided to law enforcement aided in capturing these criminals. Adding that its citizens like this, in a caring community providing valuable information that will lead to a better life. He also said this investigation continues and that an additional arrest is forthcoming.
