Richland County deputy receives replacement for vest that saved her life

Aull was also honored with a plaque for her bravery and dedication.

RICHLAND COUNTY (WACH) - One of Richland County's finest received a replacement for the vest that saved her life.

Deputy Sheila Aull was shot by Adam Jurgen during a chase on February 26.

Aull credits her bullet proof vest for saving her life. She was also honored with a plaque for her bravery and dedication.

Aull says it has been difficult to be reminded of that incident, but she appreciates the support from the community.

"It's a give and take situation," said Aull. "It reminds me of what happened. I still do get emotional, and I think about it sometimes, but it also helps me get by and go on from day to day life."

A group known as Point Blank Armor gave the vest to Aull at the Richland County Sheriff's Department Tuesday morning.
