Richland County Sheriff's Department arrests five gang members in a joint operation

COLUMBIA (WACH) â?? Sheriff Leon Lott announced the arrests of Shawn Bethea, 23, Jeffrey Curry Prescott, 22, Kerry Taylor, 19, and Marvin McCoy, 23.
Bethea, Prescott, Taylor and McCoy were all indicted on four counts of armed robbery and three counts of possession of a weapon during an attempted murder while members of a criminal street gang. Cartrell Davis, 21, was charged with attempted murder while a member of a criminal street gang.
The suspects were arrested on October 28, 2013 in a joint operation with the Richland County Sheriffâ??s Department, South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, Columbia Police Department, and the South Carolina Attorney Generals Office.
Bethea, Curry, Prescott, Taylor and McCoy robbed four victims of their property while armed with deadly weapons in July 2012. Davis fired multiple shots at the victim in an attempt to kill him.
Sheriff Lott says that law enforcement will seek out, identify, find, locate, and arrest all those who plan, attempt, or carry out any illegal activity.
Lott states that Bethea, Prescott, Taylor, McCoy, and Davis have been transported to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
