      Robber accused of shooting man who was defending his dog

      COLUMBIA, SC (WACH)- A Columbia man said someone shot him while he was protecting his dog from thieves.

      Columbia Police Spokesperson Jennifer Timmons said a man on Oakbrook Road was shot while trying to protect one of his pit bulls from being stolen. The victim said he saw a group of four men walking towards the area where he keeps four pit bulls. The victim said he confronted the suspects when one shot him.

      The victim told police the shooter is about 5 ft. 8 inches tall, weighing about 160 lbs.
