LEXINGTON (WACH) - Today Lexington High School was rocking out for a great cause.
The Special Olympics Zumbathon is now in its second year.
It raises funds and awareness for the Special Olympics and its amazing athletes.
One Lexington teacher says she even teaches Zumba to her students to help with their motor skills.
But in reality, the workout does much more.
"I think they don't see themselves as being any different from anybody else when they're on the dance floor. Honestly, they've probably got an advantage on people without intellectual disabilities becasue as you've seen, they've been on the front row the entire time. It keeps them active and helps them feel included." says Suzanne Myers, a special needs teacher at Lexington High School.
