SC care director accused of failing to report

The director of a child care center in Greenville County has been arrested and accused of failing to report the neglect of two children, one of whom died in his home.

GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) -- The director of a child care center in Greenville County has been arrested and accused of failing to report the neglect of two children, one of whom died in his home.

WYFF-TV reported that Margaret Rose has been charged with failure to report child neglect.

The mother of a toddler who was killed when a dresser fell on him and his sister has been charged with homicide by child neglect. Both parents have been charged with illegal neglect of a child.

Sheriff's Deputy Jonathan Smith says Rose knew the children of Margie and Christopher Shaver were being neglected and failed to report it.

The couple was arrested in March after 2-year-old Chandler Jerome Shaver was crushed under the dresser.

It was not clear if Rose has an attorney.
