SC lawmaker charged with driving under suspension
NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) -- North Myrtle Beach Rep. Tracy Edge has been charged with driving under suspension.
The 45-year-old Republican was held about an hour Thursday. There were no details on the traffic stop.
Horry County records show Edge was charged with speeding May 30 and found guilty July 17. Edge also was charged with speeding April 29 and was found guilty Aug. 14.
Edge said one of the trials was on the last day of the legislative session and he thought he had been granted a delay. He says he found out he had not gotten the delay when he got the notice of suspension. He says he had paid the fine and a reinstatement fee and if he had that receipt with him, he would not have been charged Thursday.
