SC man charged with Mother's Day's attack on wife

BELTON, S.C. (AP) -- An Anderson man has been charged with attacking his wife and children on Mother's Day.

Anderson County sheriff's deputies say a Belton woman and her two children were hurt when she tried to drive away from mobile home and her husband drove into the passenger side of her sport utility vehicle.

Thirty-two-year-old Christopher Ray Alewine is charged with three counts of attempted murder.

Sheriff's spokesman Chad McBride says the woman, her 12-year-old son and 2-year-old child were taken to AnMed Health Medical Center in Anderson for treatment. The injuries were not serious.

Sheriff's deputies caught Alewine about four miles away.

It wasn't clear if Alewine has an attorney.
