ORANGEBURG, S.C. (AP) -- South Carolina State University's interim president has hired two new top officers, but hasn't released their names.
The Times and Democrat of Orangeburg reported Wednesday that acting board chairman John Corbitt told the university's board that Cynthia Warrick has hired a new vice president of academics and an associate vice president of finance.
The newspaper reported Warrick was not at the board meeting where Corbitt made the announcement. Board members discussed whether Warrick is required to consult with the board on vice presidential hires before making them.
The newspaper reported that Warrick said later she will issue a news release next week after she notifies the board about the rest of her appointments.
