Corbitt, acting chairman of the Board of Trustees. ??As Trustees we are working hard to do what the state legislature and the Governor have assigned us to do. We are looking forward to the selection of an interim president; and I want everyone to know that the University will continue to move forward."

Cooper fired eight high level employees in February for not following university rules; but offered no further details. Since then, six Board of Trustee members have also resigned.
