Second arrest made in double homicide of Midlands couple
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WACH)-- A second arrest has been made in the double homicide that took place on Parklane Road in July.
Investigators arrested 32-year-old Marquez Johnson Tuesday and charged him with two counts of murder and one count of attempted murder in connection with the murder in the shooting deaths of 4-year-old Aaron Collins and his wife his 46-year-old wife Sydni Collins who were gunned down in the 770 block of Parklane Road and Claudia Drive just before 10 p.m.
A third person was also injured as a result of a car accident that occurred at the scene, but sustained non-life threatening injures.
In early August the Richland County Sheirff's Department's Fugitive Task Force and the officers with the Berkeley, Dorchester and Charleston Counties Sheriff's Departments arrested 43-year-old Ricardo Laroy Middleton.
An arrest warrant was issued for Middleton at his Summerville address and he was charged with two counts of murder and one count of attempted murder as well.
Sheriff Leon Lott stated that community tips lead to the arrest of Johnson. Both men are booked at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
