Sen. Tim Scott greets constituents at his Columbia office.

COLUMBIA (WACH)-South Carolina's newest Senator opened doors to his Midlands constituents today.

Senator Tim Scott opened his Columbia office Tuesday morning. Scott's office is for constituents to talk to his staff about issues they have with the Federal Government.

Scott's office is located in downtown Columbia at 1301 Gervais St on the eighth floor. Scott said one of the most important parts of his job is connecting with the citizens he serves.

"I want people to be able to dial 803 to find the help they're looking for and I think we need to be where the people are so we have three offices strategically located. I've spent a lot of time driving around to meet my new bosses, and this is an opportunity for me to meet my new bosses," said Scott.
