COLUMBIA (WACH) -- Allen University President Dr. Charles Young is being accused of sexual harassment by an employee of the university.
Dr. Sonya Melton claims Dr. Young made several advances toward her pressuring her to have an inappropriate relationship with him.
Melton has filed a lawsuit in U.S. District Court.
In the lawsuit, Melton alleges while reporting only to Young, on several occasions he used his position of authority trying to intimidate her into a sexual relationship.
When she refused, Melton also claims he threatened her job and said he would hurt her.
Melton is calling for compensation for emotional distress and suffering along with medical reimbursement, back pay and restoration to her former position before demotion.
WACH Fox News contacted Attorney Steve Morrison who is representing both Young and the school. Morrison said it's the university's policy not to comment on open legal cases.
