      Sheriff: 6 armed suspects rob bingo business, customers

      COLUMBIA (WACH) - Six unknown armed suspects are wanted by the Richland County Sheriff's Office in connection with a robbery that occurred at a local bingo business.

      According to Sheriff Leon Lott, Deputies responded to a robbery call around 2 a.m. Saturday, May 12, at Carter Street Bingo in Columbia on Carter Street near Two Notch Road.

      Lott says six armed suspects entered the business demanding money. One of the suspects yelled, " where is the money?" A second victim picked up a printer and hit a person with it. After stealing money from the business, the suspects also stole money, cell phones and purses from customers.

      The suspects were captured on surveillance video running into the business. They were wearing dark hoods with a white mask, or something similar, covering their faces, according to Lott.

      The man wearing a dark striped shirt who firsts walks into the business in the surveillance video is Robert Troy Erwin. According to a spokesman with the sheriff's department, Erwin has been cleared of any involvement in the robbery.
