Sheriffs in search of suspect who broke into library 3 times

COLUMBIA (WACH)â??Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott is requesting the communityâ??s assistance in locating a suspect wanted for the burglary of the Richland County Public Library.

The suspect broke into the Richland County Public Library on 7490 Parkland Road on several occasions. On Aug.27, the suspect smashed a rear window to gain entry to the library and stole a Jamex Coin Tower, with an estimated value of stolen items (to include damage) at $3,540.

On Thursday, Aug. 15 the suspect broke into the library and stole two more Jamex coin towers which contained an undetermined amount of cash, a cash register containing $20.00, and various assorted envelopes containing $49.00. The estimated value of stolen items including damages is $6,419.

On Wednesday, July 17, the suspect stole a Jamex coin tower containing money and a Sharpe cash register containing cash, equaling up to an estimated value of stolen items to include damage at $1,450.

Sheriff Lott says that this suspect is a menace and needs to be stopped. Investigators are following up on leads and questioning possible witnesses.
