COLUMBIA (WACH) -- Two local law enforcement agencies teaming up to shoot some hoops Saturday.
But this was not your typical basketball game.
Some members of the Richland County Sheriffs Department playing against the Columbia Richland Fire department in wheelchairs.
The game was in effort to bring awareness to those who have to use a wheelchair.
The proceeds from the game will benefit the South Carolina Spinal Cord Association as well as other organizations like the Richland Recreation Foundation.
â??Playing basketball is part of the overall idea of getting people out and doing things. Thatâ??s why the state organization, local organizations such as the South Carolina Spinal Cord Injury Association, they create awareness and create opportunities for people, so they know if youâ??re in a chair there are resources there are activities you can do and you can lead an independent life,â?? says Craig Hairston
If you're wondering who won, Richland County Sheriffs Department did.
The final score was 16 to 14.
