COLUMBIA (WACH) - Lexington County deputies charged a 15-year-old male student at White Knoll High School for making a bomb threat at the school on Tuesday.
Detectives determined that the student wrote a message on the boysâ?? bathroom wall saying that there would be an explosion at the school on Tuesday. Deputies searched the school and did not find a destructive device, and determined that the 15-year-old didn't have the means to carry out the threat and and was tring to get classes dismissed for the day. Administrators at White Knoll High did briefly evacuate the school on Tuesday.
School Resource Officer James Stokes will recommend that the solicitorâ??s office prosecute the boy in family court on charges of communicating a bomb threat and disturbing schools. The teen was released into his motherâ??s custody. Under South Carolina law, his identity cannot be released.
